Ernest Charles Wareham

Story:
Ernest Charles Wareham was born in Donhead St. Andrew, Wiltshire, on 8 Apr 1889 the son of Charles Wareham and Clara Caroline Isabella Wareham (nee Case).  He lived all his life in the Donhead St. Andrew area.  He married Elsie Beatrice Davenport at Donhead St. Andrew on 1 Aug 1915 whilst serving as a soldier.  He had in fact enlisted earlier with the Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire) Regiment as a Private (Service No. 20632).  It is not known in which theatre of war he served in but on his discharge on 1 Mar 1919 was awarded the Victory and British War Medals.  By the time of the 1939 Register he was living at the Bungalow, Barkers Hill, Donhead St. Andrew, working as a Gardener (Private).  His death was recorded in Salisbury, Wiltshire, during 1968.
