Story: Tom Parrott was born in Tilshead, Wiltshire, on 3 Mar 1894 and baptised there on 29 Apr 1894 the son of Edwin Parrott and Frances Bessie Parrott. He spent some of his early life at West End Farm, Ebbesbourne Wake, Wiltshire. He enlisted and joined the Royal Field Artillery as a Gunner (Service No. 226434). It is not known in which theatre of war he served but on his discharge he was awarded the Victory and British War Medals. The 1921 Census shows him living at South Farm, Ansty, Wiltshire, working as a Farm Manager. He married Irene Rhoda Alice Read in Melbury Osmond, Dorset, on 10 Aug 1922. By the time of the 1939 Register he was living at The Green, East Kennett, Marlborough, Wiltshire, working as a Farm Manager. His death was recorded at Rowde, Devizes, Wiltshire, on 6 Jul 1970.
