Story:
Reginald Ingram was born in Donhead St. Mary, Wiltshire, on 23 Jun 1883 the son of Richard Ingram and Anna Eliza Ingram (nee Young). By 1891 his family had moved to Islington, London. Reginald had joined the Royal Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, as Boy Class 2 on 31 Dec 1898 and served throughout until 9 Dec 1914 when he was transferred to the Royal Marines Light infantry (Service No. 202477). He held the eventual rank of Leading Signaller. He had married Annie Brickell at Holy Trinity Church, Shaftesbury, Dorset, on 31 Dec 1910 (Annie's father was the Parish Clerk at the time). He was eventually discharged on 6 Mar 1919 and awarded the Victory and British War Medals as well as the 1914/15 Star. On the 1918 Absent Voters List he had given his address as 37 Bimport, Shaftesbury, Dorset. By the 1921 Census he was living at 231 Mayall Road, Herne Hill, London, SE24, working as a Clerk for the Ministry of Pensions. His death was recorded in East Dulwich on 9 Sep 1936 though his residence was recorded as 57 Endymion Road, Brixton, Surrey.
