Story: Leo Bennett Reeves was born in Fontmell Magna, Shaftesbury, Dorset, on 15 Aug 1893 and baptised there on 8 Oct 1893 the son of Walter William and Emily Reeves. He lived his early life in West Street, Fontmell Magna, until he moved to Weymouth, Dorset, by 1915 to work as a Baker. He enlisted on 2 Nov 1915 and joined the Army Service Corps as a Private (Service No. S4/125269). He served in Salonika and was attached to the 22nd Field Bakery Company. He was eventually discharged on 19 Aug 1919 and awarded the Victory and British War Medals. He married Frances Harris at Pimperne, Dorset, on 25 Aug 1920. His death was recorded in Southampton, Hampshire, on 14 Aug, 1984, where he had been living and working as a Baker.
